What this site collects

This site has no analytics, no tracking scripts, no ads and no cookies. Fonts and scripts are served from this server, so loading a page does not tell any other company that you visited.

Like every web server, it keeps standard access logs (IP address, time, the page requested and your browser's user agent). They are used to keep the site running and to deal with abuse.

The contact form

When you send a message, the server stores what you typed: your name, the email address you gave, the topic and the message. It also stores the time, your browser's user agent, and a short one-way tag made from your IP address, which is used only to limit how many messages one connection can send.

Messages are kept in a file on my own server, outside the public website, and only I read them. I use your email address only to reply to you. I don't add it to a mailing list, and I don't sell or share it.

If you want a message you sent deleted, write to me through the form and say so.

The writing and design on this site are mine. You're welcome to quote and link to anything here with credit. Code samples in blog posts are free to use. Projects on GitHub carry their own licenses.

The site is provided as is. I try to keep it accurate, but I can't promise it is free of mistakes.
